Weekly CLIP workshops return to Firstsite, Colchester!

CLIP are excited to announce the return of our weekly workshops to Firstsite, Colchester. Each week young people age 12-18 years old will have the chance to play with synthesiser, microphones and musical technology – entirely for FREE, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

Absolutely no musical  experience, equipment or booking is required – just an interest in sound and music.

This project is made possible with funding from Youth Music.

PLEASE NOTE: These workshops have now concluded, however we do hope they will return in September 2023. Signup to our newsletter to be the first to hear about future opportunities.

This marks the second year of a two year project funded by Youth Music. Long term funding like this enables CLIP to continue empowering young creatives to get curious with sound. Allowing us to reach more young people to get them experimenting, composing and performing exciting new music. Our workshops and projects empower young musicians to take risks and build confidence, and give young musicians in Colchester and Tendring access to opportunities and equipment they wouldn’t otherwise have access to, such as synthesisers, music technology software and performance opportunities.

CLIP Co-Founder Frazer Merrick said

“we’re delighted to have the support of Youth Music, the money will be put to great use enabling young musicians to experiment with equipment they may not otherwise have access to and to create fun musical experiences for all skills levels.”

Matt Griffiths, Youth Music CEO says:

“It’s crucial we enable more young people to make, learn and earn in music, whatever their background or goal. That’s why we’re excited to invest in progressive organisations like CLIP, who lead the way with their innovative approach and dedication to diversifying music.”
